Holiday Fitness Gift Idea's |
|
I realize this information is arriving a bit late for the holiday season. Nonetheless, I thought it could be helpful for any last minute shoppers or at least for yourself gearing up for a fit New Year. I love any and all things fitness related so this list was very hard to narrow down. First on the list is the new Timex icontrol watch. This ironman model watch not only tells time but acts as a receiver for your ipod which means you can control your tunes from your wrist. I also think that the Omron Pocket Pedometer is a nice gift for anyone who likes to track their daily fitness. This pedometer is very accurate at counting step and I love it because you do not have to wear it on your wrist (of course, you can if you like) but it also keeps track if is in a pocket or bag. Now, for all the fitness fashionista's out there, the following websites are my favorite place to shop for great workout clothes: www.athleta.com, www.lululemon.com, www.marika.com and www.addidas.com. For the stocking some of my favorites are; Goody stayput elastic hairbands, New Balance ankle socks, emergen-C pakets (found in health food stores), gift cards for massage and training sessions or classes, lip balm for outdoor training, and subscriptions to popular fitness magazines like: Yoga Journal, Self, Shape, Women's Health, Men's Health, and Runner's World. Finally, we all need a new pair of cross trainers or running shoes to support all the jumping we plan on doing in 2008. It is important to replace training shoes relatively often. Many times if shoes are worn primarily indoors they may keep their good looks but the cushion that helps to absorb impact is pretty beat. I suggest replacing shoes every 4-6 months if possible. Let me know if you have any questions about something I mentioned. Wishing you all a very Happy Holiday! Cheers, Tressa
