Hope you all had a great Fourth of July weekend. I don’t really have a particular subject to write about today. I am a bit down. If you remember a few months ago, I wrote and mentioned my very good friend (who was also one of my roommates at the Naval Academy). His wife was in the fight of her life with cancer. Well, sadly she lost that battle and passed away last Sunday. She was in her early 40’s and left behind a husband and three kids. It is very sad all around. Sorry about not having anything amazing to pass on today. I will share a few random musings:1. How about Roger Federer? Pretty amazing that he has won 15 Grand Slam events in tennis—more than anyone in the history of the game. Talk about consistency and focus. Many argue that Nadal is better but I would just point to the fact that 15 wins doesn’t happen in a short span of time. It takes awhile and you not only have to be great at the game but you must train so well that you don’t get injured. 2. Lance Armstrong is back! I am excited for this year’s Tour de France. Lots of unknowns which makes it interesting. 3. Please remember the U.S. Marines in Afghanistan in your thoughts and prayers. They are doing some very very hard work in some very rough terrain/weather. 4. Got a “Kindle” from Amazon for Father’s Day. Pretty cool. Great for me and my commuting around the city—on buses and subways. 5. Been working-out outside, a lot recently. Nice to get some fresh air. I don’t have weights when I am not in a gym but I do have my own body weight. You really can get a great workout just using your own body weight. Today I was doing pull-ups the beam of a park shelter, inverted pushups with my feet on a light pole, push-ups with my feet on a park bench, body weight squats, and abdominal work off a park bench. I did this workout looking out over the Hudson River. Felt great and I was not left with stale gym air in my lungs. 6. Been using some great new supplement products from Enlyten. If you are interested in some samples, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . That’s about it for today. Be great! Trackback(0)
