Joe and I have been working together for about two weeks now, and he's lost an incredible 11 pounds in that short amount of time with a whopping 6 lb. drop in Week #2 alone. His numbers are off the charts - but that's not what impresses me the most about Joe. You see, he had an exerspy collecting dust long before we started working together and knew "he should be doing something". As is typical, our first discussion focused on how to get started and what to do. These conversations often meander with lots of different thoughts and emotions because there is usual an inner struggle of what to do and how to do it. Joe was no different, but we ended the call on a positive note with the agreement to touch base again in a week. As is also common with many new dads, Joe got off to an inconsistent start. I shot him a couple of emails emphasizing the importance of consistency on both logging his food and wearing his expersy which was showing some gaps. A few days later he confessed he was disjointed, and we set up another call. From that point forward, Joe has been in overdrive. He has incorporated his entire family, become completely committed to the process, raised his awareness to a whole new level and the results speak for themselves. There's no secret to his success. If you were to look at his activity monitor, you would be impressed, I am. He burns between 3750 - 4000 calories on most days...and he has a desk job! It's really impressive and that's only half of it. His nutrition is near perfect without depriving himself but rather educating himself to lower calorie alternatives. That's how he's lost so much weight so quickly - HUGE calorie deficits. It seems I often get questions from people who want to lose weight about how to get started. I guess this makes sense because getting started and not getting started usually separates those that talk about it versus those that actually take action and begin the journey. I also get this question as a last resort from those still searching for a magic pill solution who are hoping my response is a specific remedy. Sorry, those answers end up in the overflowing "failure bucket".
